After all the larger well known temples around Chiangmai this little gem was a welcome relief!
Hidden out in the countryside near San Patong, served by the local populace of farmers, is loved and revered locally far more than the wealthier ‘city’ temples close by.

I should add that these few photographs were taken at the hottest time of year (April), and I am reliably informed that possibly the best time to visit it November/December when it is much cooler and there are far more blooms to be enjoyed.

I really felt sorry for those taking part in the parade this year. as usual the sun was directly in their faces, but it was also 42 or 43 degrees, way above the average, even for this time of year.
But even then many managed brilliant smiles!

Celebrated throughout the kingdom, but never more fervently than in Chiangmai, Songkran marks the end of the old year and the start of the new in mid April.
The place to be if you enjoy a good time, if you do not……well just hibernate or something, ’cause there is no escaping the water or the good intent.
