Wat Pa Charoerntam at San Pa Tong, just to the south of Hang Dong, Chiangmai.
Very close to the site of the popular Saturday market, could provide an hour or two’s diversion if you are not into shopping(?)
A large compound full of images and tableau relating to the Buddha and Buddhism, many of the descriptive plaques are written in both Thai and English.
Many of the images tend to be a little primitive but all have an inherent interest, and many are unusual and sometimes a little surprising.

After all the larger well known temples around Chiangmai this little gem was a welcome relief!
Hidden out in the countryside near San Patong, served by the local populace of farmers, is loved and revered locally far more than the wealthier ‘city’ temples close by.
